About the role
As a Traffic Controller for SPA you will be responsible in directing the flow and speed of vehicles and to ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians and workers. We are looking for someone who is physically fit, punctual, flexible and with a positive attitude. You will be a reliable team player, who is happy to travel and work nights/weekends.
Duties
Coordinate, setting up, managing and removing traffic control
Directing traffic around works
Directing pedestrians to maintain safety around changed road conditions
Operating signs, such as stop-slow bat, using hand signals to direct traffic and pedestrians
Setting up and taking down temporary road signs
Communicate clearly with team members and the public to maintain safety
Use of portable traffic control device and/or stop/slow baton
Assist in ensuring compliance with all WH&S and environmental requirements at the worksite
Skills & Experience
Current and valid Driver's Licence and own transport
Construction Industry Safety Induction Licence (White Card)
Both TCR & IMP tickets PWZ ticket to act up as a team leader when required
Traffic Control Experience would be great but not essential!
Workers on Foot Ticket desirable
Civil Road Construction experience (desirable but not essential)
Commitment to safety protocols and attention to detail
Well-presented, realiable, punctual
Appropriate PPE and two-way radio
Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions
