Job Description
About the Role
The Safety Advisor is responsible for partnering with Supervisors and Managers to provide a high level of subject matter advice and guidance with respect to safety.
This position will promote and drive a positive health, safety and environment culture and associated behaviours in the business through effective collaboration with management and all employees, while maintaining accurate records on the safety system certifications, audits and monitoring and be actively involved in the Health & Safety Committee
Duties
Be actively involved in the Safety Committee meetings, follow up and close actions
Create and distribute safety communications
Administration, prequalification and auditing support
Manage and report compliance
Some overnight travel will be required at times in the performance of position duties
Skills & Experience
Prior experience in a similar role
Demonstrated knowledge of civil construction industry
In depth knowledge of legislation, practices and regulations
Proficient in MS Office including Excel and Powerpoint
Experience with safety systems and ability to extract and interrogate safety data
Outstanding communication skills with ability to present and explain health and safety topics
Relevant industry qualifications
