Job Description
About the role
Working out of our equipped workshop/yard located in Welshpool, Monday-Friday 6am-3:30pm as a base with possibility of overtime dependent on workload.
Directly reporting to the Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and specialised equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently to meet operational demands.
Regular availability for FIFO/DIDO work, this is performed on 3 week blocks and alternated amongst the workshop personnel, these blocks are 10-12hr days only (no night shift) 6-7 days a week.
Duties
Mechanical repairs and servicing – Trucks, Trailers, Wirtgen mixers, Graders, Small fleet
Welding, fitting and other repair tasks
Problem solving and diagnosis of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
Service focused with attention to detail, time management and strong team work ethic
Skills & Experience
Trade qualified Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
Proven experience working on prime movers, mobile plant and LVs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A proactive, safety-first attitude
Good communication and record-keeping skills
HR Driver’s Licence and forklift ticket (advantageous but not essential)
Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and therefore present solutions rather than just highlight the problem
